Vision 2024 is a $10 million effort to upgrade and preserve our campus, address repairs, and create safe, inclusive spaces for ministry and community partnerships. Campaign gifts are made above regular tithes and offerings.
The campaign is led by co-chairs David and Tracey Huntley, Dr. Frederick and Linda Todd, Dr. Delanor Doyle, Vicki D. Blanton, Esq., Pastor Richie Butler, and Generosity Chair Dennis Coleman.
Participation demonstrates unity and strong internal support for the vision. That shared commitment is also compelling to foundations, community partners, and other outside funders.
An independent Halo Effect study measured St. Luke’s annual economic and community impact at $5,744,888 through direct spending, individual impact, the magnet effect, an invisible safety net, and open space.
In 2023, Partners for Sacred Places conducted feasibility and Halo Effect studies, including interviews with congregants and community stakeholders. The findings supported a safe campaign goal of $10 million.
Partners for Sacred Places is a national, nonsectarian nonprofit founded in 1989. It helps historic sacred places strengthen their capacity as community anchors. St. Luke selected the organization after considering four firms.
The architect is Charyl McAfee-Duncan, FAIA, of McAfee3 Architects. The African American, female-owned firm was founded in 1963 by Charles F. McAfee and transitioned to his daughters, Charyl and Cheryl, in 2006.
Yes. Planning and feasibility work began in 2023, followed by a silent phase. The public phase launched on September 15, 2024.
No. Vision 2024 is a community-wide effort, and no sacrifice is too small. The campaign asks 2,000 members to consider giving at least $100 per month through December 2027.
