Senior Adult Ministry
Adults age of 50+ makes up a sizable portion of the general population even larger portion of our churches. At St. Luke, older adults are a significant segment of our church family and play a major role in our multigenerational, multicultural/ethnic, and mission driven
The movement to make disciples. They are a vital link to our past, a bridge to our future, and we value their wisdom, experience, knowledge, and other God-given abilities and gifts.
SAM connects men and women (married or single) who are age 50+ to needed resources and to meaningful opportunities for discipleship, fellowship, outreach, education, information, & support within our church family and throughout the surrounding community.
MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES:
KEENAGERS – provide opportunities for older adults in the church and the surrounding community
to connect, grow, and serve spiritually, emotionally, and socially through a variety of educational, recreational, volunteer, and leisure events and programs. ANNUAL SENIOR SAINTS OF WISDOM OBSERVANCE – members age 70+ recognized for their longevity and contributions to our church community. This celebration held in February. To be a part of the planning committee, please email sam@slcumc.org or call the church at 214-821-2970.

Collect & donate toiletry/personal care items to the homeless (Quarterly)
Provide desserts for Loaves & Fishes Ministry (4th Saturday)
