Formation and Spiritual Growth:
Bible Study is essential to our Christian walk. As we study God’s Word, our personal relationship with God grows deeper and deeper. It empowers us to live for the Lord in every aspect of our lives. Look for information on our Website and Newsletter when to enroll in one of the many bible study classes. Many classes begin in the Fall, short term class held throughout the year. Sunday School, or Church School, provides Christian education in a class setting which provides growth and understanding of the Bible and the Christian faith, fostering Christian disciples and good neighbors. Sunday School is held every Sunday morning. Lists of classes, times, locations, and all information may be viewed at the following link:
https://slcumc.org/sundayschool Vacation Bible School or VBS is a fun-filled program usually offered during the summer, (“vacation”) months, to connect with the children and families in their church and communities. Vacation Bible School is an outreach meant to bring in children that usually attend church and to teach them the gospel. As an evangelistic tool, VBS helps churches fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19).

Lay Servants– serve the local church or charge in any way in which their witness or leadership and service inspires the laity to deeper commitment to Christ and more effective discipleship. This includesthe interpretation of scriptures, doctrine, organization, and ministries of the church.

ZWHSLI- Zan W. Holmes Servant Leadership Institute To develop servant leaders for St. Luke “Community” United Methodist Church in order to implement ministry in an excellent manner that furthers the mission of the church – to make disciples for Jesus Christ.
