REV. DR. ZAN WESLEY HOLMES, JR. :
For 28 years, Dr. Holmes served as the senior pastor of St. Luke “Community” United Methodist Church. A dynamic preacher, teacher, community activist and former Texas State Representative, Dr. Holmes faithfully served the Dallas community and is a revered prophetic voice for the underserved and oppressed. A world renown leader and bridge-builder, Dr. Holmes served on the adjunct faculty of the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas and is a mentor to countless pastors around the world. His impact and footprint extend globally. His contributions to the church universal are immeasurable, and the results have brought about healing, reconciliation, and restoration to places that were previously broken.
This Servant Leadership Institute is named in his honor because he exemplifies what it means to serve like Jesus - to serve with compassion, to serve selflessly and to provide services with a genuine spirit of giving and love. Dr. Holmes enjoys spending quality time with his family at home in California. A sought-after preacher, he shares his gift of preaching at churches throughout the United States
